Martha was born in Toronto Canada on December 8, 1990. She was born of mixed (Portuguese/Filipino) heritage. She currently is a high school student at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts in Toronto.

Martha's mother Sonia recognized at an early age that she had a unique talent and at age seven started her on a vocal training program that she continues to this day. Martha sings in six languages; English, Filipino, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese. Though she does sing upbeat pop songs her preference is for songs with soaring melodies.

In 2002 Martha starred in an all digital feature film entitled "Cootie Freak". The same year she was invited to perform for the United Nations Global Peace Initiative in Geneva Switzerland.

In 2003 Martha entered the Los Angeles "Best New Talent" contest. She was declared winner in two categories; Best Contemporary Pop Vocalist and Best Child Broadway Singer. As a result of her win, she recorded three songs while in L.A. The songs; "Memorize Me", "No One But The Wind" and "Ride" were penned by Pamela Olund who's songs have been recorded by such high profile stars as Whitney Houston, Selena, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra and many others.

In the years following she has performed at several Honey Jam Concerts in Toronto, performed the National Anthems at Toronto Raptors home games, appeared on the CTV television show Open Mike with Mike Bullard and CBC Radio's Here and Now.

In 2006 a cd compiling her recordings up to that point was produced by Lenz Entertainment of Toronto. This cd includes the three songs she recorded in L.A. as well as a studio version of her United Nations song; "Cedars of Lebanon", recorded at age 11.

In 2007 Martha auditioned for the CTV reality show Canadian Idol. Even though her singing style is not generally what the show strives for she still managed to impress enough to go a long way in the competition, eventually finishing in eigth position. Her powerful voice and exceptional vocal range prompted Idol judge Jake Gold to label her "the best singer in the competition" and Farley Flexx to call her "undeniably amazing". Upon hearing Martha sing guest mentor and international superstar Enrique Iglesius had this to say; "she has such an epic voice for a sixteen year old, imagine when she's 25, she can definitely conquer the world".

Since leaving the show on July 31, 2007 Martha has continued singing at events around Toronto including performances at the Toronto Convention Centre, Kingswood Theatre at Canada's Wonderland and singing in support of the Terry Fox Run.

A new cd is in the planning stages and a concert is set for The Toronto Centre for the Arts on November 11, 2007. Ticket information for the show will be posted on this site as soon as it becomes available.
