In conjunction with the release of Kalan Porter’s new CD ‘Wake Up Living’, CHUMFM ran a contest over the past couple of weeks. When you heard Kalan’s queue to call, be the 25th caller and you won entry (with three friends) to what they termed a private concert rehearsal. I’ve never had much luck with CHUM contests. Getting the phone to ring is difficult enough and then being the right caller number even more so. Surprisingly, I managed to call in and win one morning last week, so last night I attended my first Kalan Porter live performance.
The crowd was predominantly female and a mix of all ages. CHUMFM DJ Ritchie Favalaro was the MC for the event. A round of cheers and applause greeted Kalan when he finally took the stage along with guitarist accompaniment.
